What is Fire/Rescue Science Technology?

As an emergency first responders, fire/rescue workers are skilled in handling pressure situations. The program comprised knowledge and skills in fire prevention and suppression, technical rescue, hazardous materials, emergency medical care and leadership. Practical and hands-on training.

This program is beneficial whether you are seeking a career in Emergency Services (Fire, Rescue, EMS or Emergency Management) or if you are already involved in providing fire, rescue or EMS services.

Credentials Available at SKYCTC

Emergency Medical Technician Certificate: 6 Total credit hours Requirements
Basic Firefighter Certificate: 12 TOTAL CREDIT HOURS  Requirements
Advanced Firefighter Certificate: 24 TOTAL CREDIT HOURS Requirements
Fire Chief Diploma: 52-55 Total Credit Hours Requirements

Additional Information

Courses are scheduled for the working student with most classes scheduled in the evenings and some weekends. Please check with financial aid to see if you qualify for assistance.

Admission Requirements

This program has no special admission requirements.

Length of Program

You can earn an associate in applied science degree in two years if you maintain full-time status.
