What is Engineering and Electronics Technology?

The Engineering and Electronics Technology (ELT) program prepares you to work as a professional in the exciting and highly technical field of robotics and automation. Graduates operate and maintain some of the world’s most advanced automated production systems. From working with robots that paint iconic American sports cars to maintaining automated systems that fabricate cutting edge audio components, ELT graduates use their expertise to ensure quality production and organizational efficiency.

You gain the background to work as production managers, engineering assistants, and plant maintenance specialists. Options in this program include automation technician, electronics tester, industrial electronics technician, computer aided drafting technician, and maintenance technician. Automation technicians use their expertise in electronics, pneumatics, hydraulics, programmable controllers, and other integrated technology to operate, test, troubleshoot, and maintain automated systems.

What are my career choices?

Graduates of the program can work as industrial maintenance experts, electronics technicians, automated controls technicians, robotics technicians, product support specialists, and much more.

This program has no special admission requirements.

Length of Program

You can earn an associate in applied science degree in two years if you maintain full-time status.
